Women’s Hiking Weekend in Poland

Women’s Hiking Weekend in the Polish Tatras

Three nights in the mountains. Two days of hiking in great company.

Come hiking with us in the Polish Tatras. We’ll spend two days exploring the mountains with a qualified local female guide, then head back to our traditional wooden lodge for a sauna and a proper Polish dinner.

This women-only trip is a chance to meet other women who love being outdoors, try some of my favourite Polish food and spend a long weekend in the mountains.

ARRIVE IN KOSCIELISKO - ZAKOPANE

The adventure starts near Zakopane, at the foot of the Tatras.

Arrive, settle into our traditional mountain lodge and meet the rest of the group. There's time to get comfortable, explore your surroundings and get ready for the days ahead.

In the evening we'll sit down together for a communal Polish dinner.

Good food, good company and a chance to go through the plans before we head into the mountains.

29 may

day 1 · A mountain lake and lunch in a Tatra hut

If the weather and trail conditions allow, we’ll head up to Czarny Staw Gąsienicowy, a mountain lake tucked beneath some of the most striking peaks in the Polish Tatras.

There’s a steady climb to get there, but we’ll walk at a relaxed pace, with time to catch our breath, take photos and enjoy the views as the valley opens up. Once we reach the lake, we’ll take a moment to sit by the water and look up at the mountains around us.

On the way back, we’ll aim to stop at Murowaniec, a traditional Tatra schronisko, for lunch. Think pierogi, a bowl of soup or a mug of hot tea before we head back down.

Then it’s back to the lodge for a sauna and dinner together.

After dinner, Sarah Brown, our guest and a Registered Nutritional Therapist, will lead a relaxed talk on women’s health. She’ll explore some of the factors that can contribute to fatigue, hormonal concerns and gut symptoms, with practical ideas to take home and time for questions.

Day 2 · Higher trails and wider views

By now, our legs will know we’re in the Tatras. Today we’ll head out with our local guide Helena for a longer hike, with a bit more climbing and more time up high.

If conditions are right, we’ll aim for Czerwone Wierchy. As we climb, the views open up across the Polish and Slovak Tatras, and there’ll be plenty of excuses to stop, catch our breath and get the camera out.

Our guide will choose the route on the day, taking into account the weather, trail conditions and how everyone’s feeling after the first hike. If the ridge is out of reach that day, we’ll pick another route that suits the group.

And, naturally, we’ll make time for another mountain hut lunch if the route allows. There’s always room for another piece of cake.

Monday 31 May · Don’t rush home

After one last breakfast together, we’ll check out and say goodbye to the lodge.

If you fancy one more adventure, you can book an optional via ferrata outing at an additional cost, subject to weather and conditions.

Or why not stay a little longer? Spend another day or two in Zakopane, wandering past traditional wooden houses and trying a few more local dishes. If you’re heading back through Kraków, give yourself time to explore the Old Town or spend an evening in Kazimierz or book a guided tour in Wieliczka Salt Mines.

You can arrive a little early, stay a little longer or do both. Make the most of being in Poland.
