19 FEBRUARY
ARRIVE IN KOSCIELISKO - ZAKOPANE
The adventure starts near Zakopane, at the foot of the Tatras.
Arrive, settle into our traditional mountain lodge and meet the rest of the group. There's time to get comfortable, explore your surroundings and get ready for the days ahead.
In the evening we'll sit down together for a communal Polish dinner.
Good food, good company and a chance to go through the plans before we head into the mountains.
Then an early night - tomorrow we're putting skins on.
20 FEBRUARY
YOUR FIRST DAY ON TOURING SKIS
We'll get familiar with the touring equipment and learn how everything works before heading out.
You'll learn how to use your skins, move efficiently uphill, make kick turns and switch between touring and skiing modes. We'll also introduce some of the basics of winter mountain travel, terrain awareness and avalanche risk.
Then we'll head into the Tatras and put it all into practice.
This isn't about racing uphill or ticking off a summit. We'll take the time to get comfortable, practise the new skills and enjoy being out in the mountains.
And at some point, we'll find ourselves at a traditional Tatra schronisko.
Take off the skis, warm up, sit down and order lunch.
Think kwaÅnica, pierogi, hot tea and snow-covered mountains outside the window.
Then back onto the skis for the rest of the day.
21 FEBRUARY
INTO THE TATRAS
By now, the skins won't feel quite so strange.
Today we'll build on everything from the previous day and head out for a longer guided ski tour.
We'll spend more time moving through the mountains, working on efficient uphill technique, kick turns, transitions, navigation and terrain awareness - and getting more comfortable skiing whatever the Tatras give us.
The route will depend on the conditions. Weather, snowpack, avalanche risk and the ability of the group will all play a part in where we go.
And, naturally, we'll make time for another mountain hut lunch.
22 FEBRUARY
DON'T RUSH HOME
After breakfast, we'll say goodbye to the lodge and check out.
But this doesn't have to be the end of your Polish adventure.
Why not stay a little longer?
Spend a few more days in Zakopane, explore its wooden architecture, mountain traditions and food, or head back to Kraków and spend some time exploring one of Poland's most atmospheric cities.
The trip doesn't have to start or finish with us.
Build a longer adventure around it and make the most of being in Poland.
